18th century Scottish school Portrait of a Lady. A formal portrait set in an oval window and holding fresh flowers in her hand and a small bouquet in her hair.Dark green satin dress with white lace fringe. Proper portrait of an upper-class young lady.
The measurements are 29″ wide by 34.5″ framed, the canvas is 24″ by 29″. The gilt plaater frame is in good condition with a few scattered chips to the gesso.No signature is found on it.
Possibly an Allan Ramsey work (1713-1784, England), a very successful portrait painter and writer of classical art.Placing this portrait circa 1750-60.See
